Adelaide International Kite Festival

The Adelaide International Kite Festival (AIKF) will be held again in 2024 over the Easter long weekend; Saturday 30, Sunday 31 March and Monday 1 April at Semaphore Beach and Foreshore.
This year, as in recent years, this free event will be managed by the Adelaide Kite Flyers Association and K Marie Events.

This much-loved annual event will feature invited international guests including Festival regulars Simon and Lyndall Chisnall from New Zealand as well as welcoming back many interstate kite flyers from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania, in addition to members from throughout South Australia and Adelaide.

The foreshore will also come alive across the three days, with the Festival Marketplace returning in 2024 featuring stallholders selling everything from kites, sugary sweets, gourmet cultural food, and children’s clothing. The Marketplace is also free to visit on the southern foreshore area and is open from 11am – 5pm daily.

Flying times for each of the three days will be from 11am – 4pm, weather permitting. The public are invited to join the kite flying fun and either bring their own kites or purchase them from the Marketplace or Carnival area, with the beach on the southern side of the jetty open for public flying (northern side of jetty closed for registered flyers).

The Festival organisers are delighted to work with a number of sponsors on the 2024 Festival including major sponsor, City of Port Adelaide Enfield and new Platinum Sponsor, TJ’s Amusements who will bring fun to the foreshore with their rides. The Festival welcomes new Gold Sponsors, Dock One North and Kites2KITES as well as returning Silver Sponsors, Mason Gray Strange Auctioneers and Valuers, Beyond Bank and Adbri. Event suppliers include Melba’s Chocolates who are supporting the Festival’s Easter Bunny visits, as well as Jasmine Rae Design for graphic design.
